Excerpt of Letter
I’m writing in regards to the #EndTheException campaign. Also please include [redacted] to the list.
1) I work at the Garment Factory. I work from 5:30am to 2pm. We make gym shorts for inmates, gowns, officer vests and the Texas Flag. We are in the ALC but we don’t get paid.
2) Prison Slavery is real. I was at the [redacted] Unit in Texas and I worked the fields. We barely got one water/bathroom break. And even that it was the first to be called on. You’re yelled out and degraded.
3) The Abolition Amendment gives me hope. I don’t see parole til 2031. So maybe by then there will be change.
4) Yes, I want to be active with this campaign. Any role, wherever you need me.
5) We don’t have a prison radio show in Texas
